Introducing the New Wideband 18 GHz PTP 850C
Cambium Networks is introducing the new wideband 18 GHz PTP 850C, which will replace the existing narrowband 18 GHz PTP 850C. There is no price, physical, or performance difference between the narrowband and wideband radios with one exception: The PTP 850C Wideband Radio supports channels wider than 112 MHz. Narrowband and wideband versions of the PTP 850C are interoperable, which means a link can be formed with one narrowband and one wideband radio as long as they are both operating at 112 MHz channel or narrower.
For the FCC region, channels wider than 80 MHz need a special license approval, which is not currently broadly available, but several applications are under review with the FCC.
